A memorable triple-centre tour, incorporating Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Your first five days will cover some of the essential locations in Japan. Soak up the atmosphere in the bustling and modern capital, Tokyo, followed by an overnight stay in the hot springs resort of Hakone. Your final two days in Japan are in the cultural city of Kyoto and visiting some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in historic Nara. Fly to the subtropical island of Taiwan, located 180 km east of China. Journey across the island discovering this food lovers’ paradise, exploring rural areas, coastal resorts, lakes, inland mountains and the bustling capital, Taipei. Your last three days will be spent in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. A morning tour will include the must-do sightseeing trip to the top of Victoria Peak, travelling on the famous Peak Tramway.

2017 – 19

Day 1 Fly to Tokyo
Take a scheduled flight from your regional airport to Tokyo.

Day 2 Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at Narita (Narita International Airport) or Haneda (Tokyo International Airport). You will be welcomed by our representative who will assist you to board an airport bus for your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3 Tokyo Morning Tour (B)
Today, you will be picked up from your hotel to join Tokyo Morning Tour. Visit Meiji Shrine.  See Imperial Palace East Garden and drive through Asakusa district. Tour ends at Tokyo Station approx. 1 pm. The tour guide will inform you how to go back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 4 Tokyo / Mt. Fuji / Hakone (BL)
Your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Kyoto. Please keep an overnight bag with you for the night in Hakone. After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to join the day tour to Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Visit Mt. Fuji 5th station in the morning. After lunch, take the Hakone Ropeway, followed by a cruise on Lake Ashi. After the tour you will be transferred to your accommodation in Hakone by taxi.

Day 5 Hakone / Kyoto (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Odawara or Atami station by private car (Japanese speaking driver only). Take the famous bullet train to Kyoto (travel time 150min). On arrival you will be met by an English speaking assistant at Kyoto station, where you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, join the Kyoto Afternoon Walking Tour (Approx. 3.5 km walking including over varied terrain). You will meet your
English speaking guide at Kyoto Station. Take public bus from the station to Higashiyama area and visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kodai-ji Temple, Yasaka Shrine and Gion district, one of the famous Geisha quarters. Tour ends in Gion approx. 6 pm.

Day 6 Nara / Kyoto (B)
Today, following breakfast, you will join Nara Morning Walking Tour (Approx. 4.5km walking). You will meet your English speaking guide at Kyoto station. Take a Kintetsu Express Train to Nara, the
imperial capital of Japan in the 8th century. You will visit Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha), Nara Park (Deer Park) and Kofuku-ji Temple. Return to Kyoto by train. Tour ends at Kyoto station approx. 1 pm. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 7 Fly to Taipei (B)
Today you will transfer to Kansai International Airport by airport shuttle bus for your flight to Taipei. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8 Taipei / Sun Moon Lake (B)
Drive to Sun Moon Lake which is located in the middle of Taiwan and situated 762 meters above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. Stop at the famous Wenwu Temple – also known as Literature-Warrior Temple, the Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. Enjoy the natural hot springs at your hotel. You can also enjoy the walking trails, biking, hiking or boating at the lake.

Day 9 Sun Moon Lake / Foguangshan Monastery / Kaohsiung (B)
Passing by the lovely small and old Jiji Railway Station, drive to Foguangshan Buddhist Monastery, the most famous Buddhist sacred place in southern Taiwan. Continue to Kaohsiung which is the second largest city in Taiwan. Take a visit to Love River and Liuhe Night Market.

Day 10 Kaohsiung / Kenting / Taitung (B)
Morning tour to Kenting National Park, located at Taiwan’s southern tip spanning 37 miles of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park. Stops will be made at Eluanbi light house, Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park. Continue to Taitung and stay overnight at Zhiben.

Day 11 Taitung / Taroko (B)
After breakfast, you will experience an exciting East Coast Tour. The East Coast National Scenic Area stretches 170 kilometres down the east coast of the island. Weathering, erosion, and accumulation have produced a wide range of landforms here. Enjoy stops at Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping (Stone Steps) and a marble factory and showroom. Late afternoon, proceed to Hualien for an overnight stay at Taroko National Park.

Day 12 Taroko National Park / Taipei (B)
Morning visit to Taroko National Park, an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. Pass by the Tunnel of Nine Turns, Ci Mu Bridge, and stop at Swallow Grotto and Changchun Temple. Return to Taipei stopping at Cingshui Cliff and driving through Syue-Shan Long Tunnel.

Day 13 Taipei city tour / Hong Kong (B)
During your half day morning city tour visit the key locations in Taipei including Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, Martyrs’ Shrine, Presidential Building (pass by), Traditional Taiwanese Temple, National Palace Museum and Handicraft Centre. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival you will be transferred by shuttle bus to your hotel.

Day 14 Half day Hong Kong Island tour (B)
In the morning enjoy a half day tour of Hong Kong Island. Visit Victoria Peak with a tram ride up to the Peak, then drive to Stanley Market, Repulse Bay and Aberdeen. The afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 15 Fly to UK (B)
Day at leisure time until your transfer to the airport by shuttle bus. Take your onward flight to London Heathrow or your regional airport.

Kyoto: New Miyako Hotel

Taipei: Howard Plaza

The Howard Plaza Hotel is conveniently located around a 7-minute walk from Xongxiao Fuxing Station.  Comfortable guestrooms offer flat-screen TV, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with toiletries. There is an outdoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness centre.  The Rosewood Restaurant serves French cuisine, whilst authentic Shanghai food can be enjoyed at Yangtse River Restaurant. Sun Moon Lake:  Fleur De Chine

Chinese and Western dishes are served at Mei Yuan Restaurant. Featuring an international menu, Wellesley Restaurant serves buffet spread and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

Hong Kong:  Metropark Kowloon

Metropark Kowloon offers 4-star facilities like a rooftop pool. There is also free WiFi and free bottled water provided daily.  House of Tang Restaurant features Chinese dishes prepared by award-winning chefs. An international buffet is available at Palm Court Restaurant while Sip Sip Bar offers a good selection of beers.
