It will be a new golden route that allows passengers to enjoy all Japan has to offer from the capital city of Tokyo to various regions of Japan that still have the country’s original scenery intact.

2016 – 17

Day 1 Fly to Tokyo Hukuriku tour
Take a scheduled flight from your reginal airport to Tokyo.

Day 2 Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at Narita (Narita International Airport) or Haneda (Tokyo International Airport). You will be welcomed by our representative and assist you to board an airport bus. Transfer to your hotel by bus.

Day 3 Tokyo Morning Tour (B)
Today, you will be picked up from your hotel to join Tokyo Morning Tour. Enjoy the panoramic view of Tokyo from the main observation platform at Tokyo Tower, visit Meiji Shrine, drive past Akasaka House which is one of the two State Guesthouses of the Government of Japan. See the National Diet Building and visit Imperial Palace Plaza, Double Bridge and drive through Tokyo’s famous shopping district, Ginza. Tour ends in Ginza approx. 1 pm. The tour guide will inform you how to go back to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 Tokyo / Nagano (B)
Make your own way to Tokyo station. Take a Bullet train to Nagano and change to a local non-reserved train for Yudanaka. From Yudanaka staion, take a local bus to Kanbayashi-Onsenguchi and 30mins walk to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park (Travel time 220mins). Transfer back to Nagano and visit Zenko-ji Temple. Make your own way to your accommodation.

Day 5 Nagano / Shin-Hotaka Onsen (BD)
Take a limited express train to Matsumoto (Travel time 50mins). Enjoy sightseeing Matsumoto Castle on foot. After sightseeing, take an express bus to Shin-Hotaka via Hirayu Onsen (Travel time 130mins). Make your way to your accommodation. Tonight you will stay in a Japanese room at a ryokan, traditional Japanese Inn. Enjoy hot spring bath and traditional Japanese dinner at your accommodation.

Day 6 Shin-Hotaka Onsen / Takayama (B)
Enjoy Shin-Hotaka Ropeway rides, while watching great panoramic views from the roof observation deck at Nishi-Hotakaguchi Station (Travel time 90mins). After sightseeing, take a local bus to Takayama via Hirayu Onsen (Travel time 100mins). Enjoy sightseeing in Takayama on foot. Make your own way to your accommodation.Suggested Sites: Yatai Kaikan, Takayama-Jinya, Kusakabe Folk Museum by own expense and stroll Sanmachi-dori, Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

Day 7 Takayama / Shirakawago / Kanazawa (B)
Make your own way to Takayama Bus Terminal. Take a Nohi bus to Shirakawago (Travel time 50mins). Sightseeing in Shirakawago Village. Taka a Nohi bus to Kanazawa (Travel time 90mins). Upon arrival, make your own way to your accommodation. Suggested Sites in Shirakawago: Gassho-zukuri traditional farmhouse, Nagase House, Minka-en .

Day 8 Kanazawa / Yamanaka Onsen (BD)
Enjoy sightseeing in Kanazawa using public transport. Take a Hokutetsu bus to Yamanaka Onsen (Travel time 100mins). Enjoy walking Kakusenkei Gorge and open air bath viewing gorge. Tonight you will stay in a Japanese room at a ryokan, traditional Japanese Inn. Enjoy hot spring bath and traditional Japanese dinner at your accommodation. Suggested sites in Kanazawa: Kenroku-en, Seison-kaku, Kaga Yuzen Traditional Industry Centre, Omicho Market, Higashi Chaya-gai.

Day 9 Yamanaka Onsen / Kyoto (B)
Take a local bus to Eihei-ji Temple. After sightseeing, take a local bus to Tojinbo. Enjoy walking Tojinbo and back to Awara Onsen station. Transfer to Kyoto by limited express train.

Day 10 Full day tour of Kyoto (BL)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from Hotel in Kyoto to join a full day tour of Kyoto by coach. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Nijo Castle. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. Visit Kinkaku-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond. Spend time at Kyoto Imperial Palace (Mondays to Fridays), which used to be the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family until 1868, or Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and specific days). This shrine’s main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the God of scholarship. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons. Enjoy Japanese/Western style buffet lunch. Don’t miss the characteristic red architecture of the beautiful Heian Jingu Shrine built to celebrate the 1100 year anniversary of the founding of the city of Kyoto. Sanjusangen-do Temple is the world’s longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century. Enjoy the superb view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.

Day 11 Fly to UK (B)
Transfer to Kansai International airport by airport shuttle bus. Fly to your regional airport in UK.
