Journey through Japan, taking in some of the best scenic locations. Visit the modern capital Tokyo and stay in a ryokan during your time in Hakone. See the famous snow monkeys in the hot springs resort of Yudanaka. Take the train to the mountain city of Matsumoto, then spend time in the scenic and traditional  locations of Takayama, Shirakawago and Kanazawa. Enjoy three nights in the cultural city of Kyoto then take the Bullet train to the historic city of Hiroshima.  Your last night is spent in the port city of Osaka.

Day 1 Fly to Tokyo
Take a scheduled flight from your regional airport to Tokyo.

Day 2 Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at Narita International Airport. You will be met by our representative and helped to board an airport bus. Transfer to accommodation by Airport Limousine Bus (Travel Time 85min).

Day 3 Tokyo Morning City Tour (B)
Today, you will be picked up from your accommodation to join Tokyo Morning Tour. An English speaking guide will lead the tour and visit Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace East Garden and Ginza. Tour ends in Ginza at approximately 1 pm. The tour guide will inform you how to go back to your accommodation. Afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 4 Mt. Fuji and Hakone (BL)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation to join Mt. Fuji and Hakone Day tour. Tour includes Mt. Fuji 5th station, lunch at Hakone Lake Hotel, Hakone Ropeway, boat cruise on Lake Ashi. Back to your accommodation in Tokyo in the evening, at around 1830-2030. (return service to your accommodation available).

Day 5 Tokyo / Nagano / Yudanaka (BD)
Your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Takayama. You will need to keep an overnight luggage for your nights in Yudanaka and Matsumoto. Make your own way to Shinagawa station. Take a bullet train to Nagano. English speaking assistant will meet you at platform and assist boarding local train to Yudanaka. Upon arrival, make your own way to your accommodation. Visit Snow Monkey Park (Jigokudani Yaenkoen) and enjoy walking in the mountain. Free shuttle bus is available to the park (10mins).

Day 6 Yudanaka / Nagano / Matsumoto (BD)
Take local train to Nagano (60mins). Upon arrival, free time until departure. Take limited Express train to Matsumoto (50mins). Upon arrival, proceed to your accommodation.

Day 7 Matsumoto / Takayama (B)
Proceed to Matsumoto bus terminal by free shuttle bus. Board Nohi bus to Takayama (140mins). Upon arrival at Takayama, make your own way to your accommodation.

Day 8 Takayama / Shirakawago / Kanazawa (B)
Free time until departure. Your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Takayama to Kyoto. You will need to keep an overnight bag for your night in Kanazawa. Take Nohi bus to Shirakawago. Free time until you depart for Kanazawa. Upon arrival, make your own way to accommodation.

Day 9 Kanazawa (B)
Day is at leisure. Located in the central part of the mainland of Japan, the city offers many historical attractions, historical houses, traditional handicrafts, as well as modern museums. It also boasts one of the best and visited landscape gardens in Japan called Kenrokuen.

Day 10 Kanazawa / Kyoto (B)
Free time until departure. Early afternoon, take an express train to Kyoto (travel time120mins). Upon arrival, make your own way to your accommodation.

Day 11 Kyoto and Nara Day tour (B)
Today, you will join a full day walking tour of Nara and Kyoto (Return train rides between Kyoto and Nara and a bus ride in Kyoto included). You will be met by a tour guide in front of NTA Kyoto station office.
In Nara, you will visit Todaiji Temple with Great Buddha, Nara Park and Kofuku-ji Temple. In Kyoto, you will visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kodai-ji Temple and Yasaka Shrine.Tour disbands in Gion district.

Day 12 Kyoto (B)
Day is at leisure. Optional tours available to pre-book. Home to 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Kyoto was the centre of politics for 1,100 years. This culturally rich city offers many interesting places to visit including museums, art galleries, shrines and temples. Popular historic sites include the Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Nijo Castle. You will also discover an exciting food culture with a variety of amazing food on offer including Sushi, Kaiseki-ryori, tempura and noodles. During your time in Kyoto you may come across a Geisha and Maiko (apprentice Geisha) wearing traditional kimono.

Day 13 Kyoto / Mt. Koya (BD)
Your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Kyoto to Osaka. You will need to keep with you the luggage that you need for your nights in Mt.Koya and Hiroshima. You will be met by an English speaking assistant at accommodation, and transfer to Shin-Imamiya. Leave Shin-Imamiya for Mt.Koya by train and cable car via Gokurakubashi by yourself. Afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 14 Mt. Koya / Hiroshima (B)
Leave Mt. Koya for Osaka by cable car and train via Gokurakubashi. Take Bullet train to Hiroshima from Shin-Osaka. Afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 15 Hiroshima (B)
Day is at leisure. Optional tours available to pre-book. Here you will find the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome), which symbolizes the importance of world peace. Adjacent to the Genbaku Dome, which has been inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage Site, is the Peace Memorial Park. Itsuku-shima-jinja, the shrine inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage Site along with the Genbaku Dome in 1996, is located on Miya-jima Island. It is said to be one of the three most beautiful sights in Japan.

Day16 Hiroshima / Osaka (B)
Leave Hiroshima to Osaka by Bullet train by yourself (100mins). Afternoon is free at leisure. Osaka, and in many ways like Tokyo, is a large port city and commercial powerhouse on the Japanese island of Honshu is known for its modern architecture, boisterous nightlife and hearty street food. In the heart of the city is the perfectly restored, and very impressive, Osaka-jo castle. Osaka’s north gate, Umeda, has a gigantic stretch of underground mall that houses many restaurants, fashion and sundry goods stores. Osaka is also widely known as the Nation’s Kitchen, offering an incredible array of tasty Japanese dishes.

Day 17 Fly to UK (B)
Day at leisure until your transfer to Kansai international airport by airport shuttle bus. Fly to your regional airport in the UK.
