Located on Osaka Bay in central Japan, Kobe is one of the country’s ten largest cities. This cosmopolitan city is famous for its signature marbled beef, which comes from the Wagyu cattle found in the area, and the scenic mountains that surround the harbour. There are antique cable cars that connect Kobe to the magnificent Mount Rokko, offering panoramic vistas across the area. Kobe Harbourland is a popular place to visit for a wide selection of food, speciality shops and a variety of entertainment. The city is also home to the Ikuta Shrine, which dates back to the 3rd century, and is among Japan’s oldest Shinto shrines.
Beyond the Mount Rokko peaks are the outdoor hot springs of Arima Onsen.
